9:45 – 10:30 am Bimodal BI and Cognos Personal Data Sets
Presenter(s): Rich Chester, Director of BI for LPA Software Solutions
The Gartner Group recently formulated the concept of Bimodal BI to describe the future of Business Intelligence where agility and reliability coexist together providing both a single version of the truth, but at the same time empowerment for end-users to explore data in a self-directed manner. Personal data sets are one such manner of this end-user empowerment.
During this session Rich will demonstrate how you can create and share business intelligence reports, analyses and dashboards using your own personal sources of data, such as Excel or raw data files like TXT/CSV, without the involvement of the IT department.
10:30 – 11:15 Predicting the likelihood of readmissions at Martin’s Point Health Care
Presenter(s): Robert Lavallee, BI Reporting Analyst and Ben Dawson, Analytics Lead, Creative Computing Inc.
Robert is one of 6 BI Reporting Analysts for Martin’s Point Healthcare in Portland Maine where he has been a valued member for 15 months. Before transitioning to the Healthcare Industry, Robert spent 8 years in the Boston Area working for State Street Corporation supporting Cognos and all internal BI & reporting efforts.
